They could use a swipe starting from within the bezel to switch between apps. Not just from the side of the screen but from within the actual bezel.

Swipe up and down the bezel on the opposite side to where you’re holding the tablet to change volume, zoom in and out etc.

Tap in the top right to bring up a context menu to access a message center for example.

So, I want to go out to eat, a week Monday, at around 8pm. Nothing unusual about that, I do sometimes go out you know.

However this time I want to go to a restaurant that’s the other side of the world.

The internet should be able to easily find me a restaurant near Sydney Opera House that’s open on a Monday at around the right time, that serves seafood (I like good seafood), that has a table free (that’s not right by the toilet), that has a good rating (at least one rating preferably.)

I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong.

I hope it’s not true.

Dieing angry seems like such a sad way to end your life.

And I would like to remember Steve Jobs for all the other beautifully designed things he brought into the world and not the hatred this quote portrays.

The world needs more people who think of producing the very best that they can do with no compromise. There are too many people involved with computer hardware and software these days whose mantra appears to be ‘Good enough’

This is a selfish observation.

I used to enjoy John Gruber’s blog, but now I’ve become a little jaded by it and
I’m worried about John Gruber.

I hope in his life he has something outside of

Apple Good, Google Bad.

to fall back on.

I may be remembering incorrectly but I’m sure his blog used to have some
very interesting things outside of the very narrow field he seems to have
placed himself in.

Whether it is because Apple are paying him as some have postulated matters not
to me. What I miss are the posts that made me think about something new.
Something outside of the ordinary.

They are conspicuous by their absence and I’m not sure it’s a healthy.

Now when John writes a post I know ninety nine times out of a hundred that he’ll be bashing Android or praising Apple and now my response is to yawn. It’s become predictable.

And when I say I’m worried about John I really mean that I’m worried that the
sort of post I’m interested in will not happen again.

For purely selfish reasons you understand.
